The Christmas season is celebrated in different ways around the world, varying by country and region. Elements common to many areas of the world include the lighting of Christmas trees, the hanging of Advent wreaths, Christmas stockings, candy canes, and the creation of Nativity scenes depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. The sending of Christmas cards, the exchange of Christmas time greetings, observance of fasting and/or special religious observances such as midnight Mass and the giving and receiving of gifts.
Christianity in Pakistan is a minority, but Pakistani Christians welcome Christmas season with great joy and enthusiasm. Christians decorate their houses with local Christmas handicrafts while artificial stars signifying the Star of Bethlehem are hung on rooftops. They distribute sweets and cakes to their neighbors. In many of the schools that are run by the Christian missionaries, the children actively participate in the programs. Also in many non-religious schools, there is tradition of Christmas celebration. Christmas is also increasingly celebrated by Muslim majority. Christmas is known as BARA DIN (Big DAY) in Pakistan.
Christmas – The True Spirit
Christmas season is a season of joy and happiness all around the world. Christians welcome this season with great excitement. Christians celebrate this season in many different ways and wanted this season to be filled with pleasure and this attitude is justified. But as a true Christian one should also remember the true spirit of Christmas season.
The true spirit of Christmas season is giving joy and kindness to people. The true spirit of Christmas season is helping the poor and helping people in need. It’s caring for people who are very, very sick. The true spirit is to share joy, kindness and volunteer to help people that are poor and needy.
God loves the poor. He is among them. And if one is going to celebrate the birth of his Son with any sense of conscience, he or she must be with them, too.
Rock City Church Pakistan believes in the true spirit of Christmas Season. Under the leadership of Pastor Asher Aziz believes that the true spirit of Christmas season is in sharing joy and happiness with those people who have no resources to celebrate this season.
RCCP believe that this is our responsibility to teach and set an example of the standards, ideals and values that are pleasing to our Heavenly Father. What gift should be given to our Lord Jesus Christ on His birthday? RCCP believe that the most beautiful gift we can offer to our Lord Jesus Christ is to share our joy and happiness with those who are in need, a true gift to Jesus Christ is to make someone in need especially happy.
“If you offer your food to the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, then your light shall rise in the darkness and your gloom be like the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10)
In order to celebrate Christmas season in its true spirit Rock City Church Pakistan decided to reach people who are Poor, Needy and Slaves entering Christmas season without any joy and happiness. Who anticipate Christmas season as an extra financial burden because in Winter Season they can’t do enough work to meet their financial needs.
Basic aim of this help is to share the love and care of our Lord Jesus Christ. To make Christmas season special for those needy people who does not feel anything special for this lovely season.
On every Christmas we provide Food Packets, Clothes and Shoes to little children and Grocery Food Packets to Families.
